“What are you doing out at this hour?”
She knows better than to think the question comes from a place of genuine concern or interest. More than likely, Tamala is up to her own shady business and doesn’t want a witness. Especially if that witness is able to arrest her.
“Why do you want to know?” she asks, responding to one question with another. Now it’s time for Tamala to roll her eyes.
Subira is aware that it doesn’t really make much sense to be secretive about what she’s doing since she’s looking for something she’ll have to give to the woman in front of her anyways.
But her logical mind escapes her for a moment.
“So secretive. I take it you’re looking for the Elderwood Lotus, yes?”

“Lay on your stomach,” you say, pulling the top drawer open to find what you’re looking for.
“You feeling real bossy tonight, huh?”
You look over your shoulder, and despite himself, he’s walking over to the bed.
“Mhm. I have to be when you’re so stubborn,” you say. You locate the bottle of lotion and take it out, closing the drawer before turning to face him. He’s on his stomach, head on one of the pillows.
“So what’re you doin’?”
You hold up the lotion bottle to show him, and he sighs defeatedly. A smile makes its way to your face at his compliance, begrudging as it is.
You walk over to him and he rests on the side of his head. You approach the bed and plant one knee on it, swinging the other leg over him to straddle the back of his thighs.
“Y’know you don’t need–”
“Hodari,” you cut him off. “Shut up.”
