Summary
As a beta, Mydei pays little mind to the nonsense happenings between alphas and omegas. He cares little for their grievances over scenting rituals and grumblings over markings. However, with his people begrudgingly settled in Okhema, he is forced to confront them. Even worse, his people take particular issue with Phainon's presence around him, and insist for him to keep his distance.

That was a horrible lie. The prince wouldn't be fooled by such a shallow plea. Even as he glared at Phainon, he found nothing but a stunned silence; and as he clasped the Deliverer's shivering hand into his own, he shut his eyes to rid that unsightly apprehension sewn onto his partner’s expression.
He took a deep breath to compose himself, but what he said remained steadfast.
"Don't tell me not to worry."
A mission out to Aidonia has thawed the prince's unwonted heart.

He tears at them with his hands, ripping them away; they cling to his body like spiderwebs, growing ever brighter.Phainon is faintly aware of Mydei shouting, but that is happening somewhere else. Here, in the dark, he sees only one thing: a single line of blinking red code that makes his blood freeze solid.
