He turns to look at Ilya again, "Yes, I know. You'd be the first of men I think."
"Ah, yes, well they are stupid. I am not stupid." Ilya's hands rub up and down the top of Shane's thighs, kissing his knees again.

Summary
Shane and Ilya haven’t spoken to each other since they broke up over a misunderstanding at the 2017 All-Stars game. Ilya was traded from Boston to LA and they both tried to move on. But, in December of 2019, when Ilya ends up on injury reserve, he decides to make an unannounced trip to Montreal. He could have never foreseen the global pandemic just around the corner of that decision, and as the world crumbles around them, they find themselves isolated at the cottage for the longest offseason of their lives.
