Daniel hums an agreeable sound, his arms crossed over his chest. “Sure. I just gotta get my microph–”
“No.” Armand murmurs, both legs over the sofa in a sort of sitting fetal position, hugging the pillow tight. “Please don't.”
“...you don't want me to record it? Maybe to give your side of everything, try to right a wrong, or–”
“What’s wrong is forever wrong, there's nothing to be done about that.” The vampire frowns, and besides vulnerable, now he looks… sad. Properly sad. Daniel didn't really understand what this meant.
“...alright, then.” He sighs and readjusts his position on the couch, turning to the vampire and resting an elbow on the back of the sofa. “What did you want to tell me, then?”
The ancient creature firmly holds the pillow, looking at the coffee table. “I… I did something to you.”
or
Armand tries to restore some of Daniel's memories of the romance they had (Armand is Alice theory, considering that they had a relationship prior to what we see im the TV series). It doesn't go exactly as planned.

“You’re thinking,” Armand said in a sort of pitying croon as she cupped Daniel's jawline, thumb resting by her ear and fingers creeping behind it to cradle her skull. “Stealing your thoughts away from me, where I can’t hear them.”
“I never knew what you were thinking. You aren’t a fan of being on the same page, now? This is how it is for everyone else.”
“I don’t like it.”

Armand has long been haunted by the ghost of his maker- a voice in the back of his head that never really vanished even after so many centuries. When Armand himself creates a fledgling by turning Daniel, he does the only thing he can think of to avoid creating such a bond.
He leaves.
Now truly alone for the first time, he sets off across the world to chase the ghosts of his past, and perhaps, the ones of his future as well.A prequel/companion fic to (Don't Fear) The Reaper. It shouldn't be completely necessary to read them in order.
