    Fic inspired by "The Enemy of My Enemy is My Friend" by Hyacintheriel_Dophlas. I really liked the concept and wanted to write my own version of it.

    None of the team knew much about what happened in Afghanistan. Tony had hacked his SHIELD files long before they met, and he wasn't very forthcoming about it even now that they had all grown closer. They knew it was bad, knew that it was how he got the arc reactor and Iron Man, but that was it and Tony liked it that way. They didn't need to deal with his baggage, especially not Steve.

    However, this becomes a problem when the Quinjet crash lands on a remote island and they are forced to take shelter in a cave with a very hurt and delirious Tony. Steve and the others don't know how to handle it when it becomes apparent that Tony steadfastly believes they are a group of kidnapping terrorists. Angst and obligatory hospital scenes ensue.

    I adore so much this remix than the original!

    I love Tony being kidnapped but this is even more angsty because he is not kidnapped but thinks he is indeed kidnapped.

    The reason I love this fanfic better is because I feel more flesh out the distress and emotions and interactions between the characters. Also, I love how they included Rhodey, I love when he appears.

    Also good angst because Steve doesn't want to hurt Tony but he is a danger to the team, because he doesn't know that's his team, ahh, just, so great.

    Written for this prompt on the Avengers kinkmeme (and first posted there): "The Avengers are trapped somewhere. A forest, a cave, whatever. Tony, who is hurt, traumatized, his arc reactor running low, MacGyvers some awesome shit and saves the day. The Avengers can only watch in awe."

    The Avengers are stuck in a cave, and Tony, despite being essentially incapacitated by the loss of his suit, has a working plan to deal with this shit. So what if his team thinks he's only useful in the suit? And so what that they're not in life-threatening danger, the kind that Loki strews around himself like confetti? Tony is going to get them out of there by hook or by crook, because goddammit he hates caves, and no one else is coming up with a better plan. They're not in danger now, but time is running out. And if Tony has to damage himself to pull off his plan, well, them's the breaks.

    Incidentally, Steve doesn't like it when Tony's damaged.

    (Or: Stand back! Tony Stark's about to try science. Dangerous, self-sacrificing science.)

    I love when Tony is in danger or simple put he is in distress and this is not the exception. In this case of course Tony is saying: "nop, getting out of this yesterday". But that's not the only reason I love this fic, I also adore how the team start acting as an actual team.
