“Umm, dunno?"
Erend raised a brow. “Please tell me you at least got her number?”“Umm, no." Erend threw up his hands in exasperation. "Seriously, Aloy? Shit, this is just like Talanah all over again!"

Cynical and quick-on-the-trigger Jane Shepard, Alliance Marine turned Spectre, has long since gotten used to the consequences of the immutable reputation Torfan left her with. One of only a dozen humans skilled enough to attain Spectre status in the near two hundred years that humanity has been involved in the galactic community, she is used to the violence, infamy, and collateral damage that follows her from one assignment to the next.
Then Matriarch Benezia T’Soni sends her a request, asking her to investigate a murder: her own. The authorities call it a suicide, and Shepard is left a trail leading to Illium, Benezia’s estranged daughter Liara, and a fragment of evidence from Torfan that Shepard has never seen before.

Summary
There was a rumble, like distant thunder.
Seyka felt it rise up through her boots, a tremor in her bones, loose stones on the ground shifting like sand through fingers. A great pounding reverberated from beneath the earth and the slopes of the mountain heaved with each beat, trees rippling and huge boulders tumbling to the ground with the shifting of the rock. Seyka wasn't ashamed to admit that she felt a rush of fear slide down her spine at the sight.
The world seemingly froze as the army gathered at the mountain's base held its collective breath until the tremoring died down and the mountain laid still once more.
Sand crunched beneath Zo's sandals as she stepped up behind Aloy and Seyka.
"Nemesis will bring the entire mountain down soon."
Or, Nemesis has finally arrived on Earth.
