Four hours during which his highly-trained, highly-competent body was up and wandering around Coruscant, doing kark even knew what, utterly outside of his conscious control.
Fox forced himself to keep breathing slowly and evenly, clamping down on the sick horror that was creeping down his spine. He really ought to be used to this by now. It certainly happened to him enough.

That was the last time Cody had spoken to his twin. Looking at the HoloNet, Cody was terrified that he now understood what Fox had meant.Or: Fox calls all of his batchmates and warns them a year in advance for Order 66. He, as someone stationed on Coruscant, can’t escape it, but the others can. Cody disagrees with this sentiment.

Summary
Palpatine drinks poison and dies. The Coruscant Guard is… not eager to report it, and decide to impersonate him, making Fox their replacement Chancellor. The only reason people realize is because the Senate becomes 100% more effective.

Summary
Fox comes back to himself somewhere in the tar-black guts of Coruscant. He comes to, like he's walking through sludge, feet scraping across— sand? gravel? —the ground in the subconscious way someone breathes. There's something heavy slung across his shoulder, and he almost topples, swaying back and forth like a buoy on Kamino's surface. An awful stench seeps through the filter of his bucket.
There are five thousand, one hundred and twenty-seven levels between the Senate Building and the long-drained ocean floor of Coruscant.
(or: fox snaps out of the weirdest fucking blackout mission of his life. this, naturally, has consequences. )

Between his normal duties, dealing with the Senate’s crap, planning a GAR-wide chip removal, and keeping Coruscant afloat Fox has had it up to here. And then Chancellor Palpatine calls, and Fox finds that he really, really doesn’t care enough.
Or: Fox puts Chancellor Palpatine on hold for 43 minutes.
