"I invoke the Gallows Law."
Ace had missed the black vortex that flared to life on the scaffold, purple lightning blinding before a hooded figure appeared next to Sengoku on the scaffold out of nowhere. Something about his tone familiar in a way that Ace had no way of placing. Not at the moment. His words, on the other hand, made no sense. The fire logia didn't know what a Gallows Law could even be, but it was nothing good considering the way Gramps stiffened at his side, his eyes almost haunted. Even Sengoku froze and stopped his dumb monologue.
Even the battlefield settled, voices suddenly going quiet, scents flaring with confusion as everyone froze in this moment until the newcomer repeated again.
"I invoke the Gallows Law. Until it is either accepted or denied you are not to touch Gol D. Ace."
The moment Figarland Shamrock invokes an ancient law to save Ace from execution, everyone assumes he has nefarious purposes in mind. The truth, on the other hand, might be more complicated than anyone expects.

Summary
The son of the Pirate King and a double dosed D. The potential of such an individual was almost unlimited. Shamrock tapped the desk with his pen, ignoring the purr he could feel at the back of his mind, his dragon content and covetous.
Would this be it? The first gem of his hoard that would finally make the feeling go away? Firefist would have no choice but to comply, of course, and Shamrock would make sure he wanted for nothing. He would not be the first dragon to have humans for his hoard after all.
He knew he needed to be smart about how he approached this matter. He would have to do this the right way - the old fashioned way.
Shamrock's dragon is not appeased by gems or coins, by knowledge of old or the vastness of the hoard the Figarland family had amassed. No matter how much he forces himself, he cannot be content with the cavern his ancestors had created. It's a good thing Firefist Ace's execution is plastered on all newspapers - it allows him to realize that perhaps he needs something else.
No one quite expected pirates to be that specific something else.

Shamrock (God Valley to 15 Years Old)
Due to the trauma in God Valley, Shamrock awakens the pinnacle version of Observation Haki young: a combination of the Voice of All Things and Chrono Vision.
Mary Geoise in the eyes of a young Shamrock. He's alone, with the Voice telling him things are not what they seem in the Land of the Gods. Visions that show past, present, and future haunt him. It's both a survival tool and a curse. The 'family' here doesn't exist; it's all survival.
Shamrock's last straw happens when he's shown a future where his lost younger twin brother dies by his own hand.
He refuses to let that happen.
He has a deadline: to escape Mary Geoise before the Devoted Blade of God rite.
