Previously titled: Pulling the Strings
A creator and his creation. A master and his pet. New lines of code meant to caress, manipulate, or attack at a whim. He was a lover of progress; pushing the boundaries of not only the individual but the reality they resided in. Of molding his creation into the epitome of perfection, guiding him upward in the world. In Kinger's world, that is. And Caine is oh so eager to please~.
But when the past rears its ugly head, unwilling to let him or his project go, lies unfurl and morals become blurred. The colorful world hiding bloodied secrets written in static monochromes, and songs of forgotten pains whispered in the darkest depths.
This was his domain, rules bending to his will and his alone. Willing to cross lines to protect what was rightfully his, and to finish what they started. Nothing was going to get in his way.

If you’re following my Caine x Reader, welcome back! This takes place in a separate timeline and will not be in second-person or include the reader character. This work will not be touched without taking care of the other fic first, don't worry. I need this outlet to avoid writer's block. Lmao.

Summary
Caine and his daughter have just moved to a new suburb in a new town as far as he can get from the suspicions that are following him. Not to say the police were on the wrong trail, but he's not particularly fond of getting caught. He of course plans to continue his work as soon as he can, but unfortunately a new neighbor with stunning blue eye is becoming quite the distraction.
Soon he finds himself in a careful balancing act between his daughters need, his attraction to the girl-dad down the street, and his own twisted cravings for the people who have hurt him. And the main problem with distractions, is that they make it easy to get sloppy. The only question is, who will catch him first: the police, the ten year old, or the man he's falling hopelessly in love with?
