Tony blew out a breath, pinching the bridge of his nose. “Look. All I heard growing up was how great you were. It was Steve this and Steve that. My dad wanted you for a son instead got stuck with me.” While Steve may choose to forget, Tony couldn’t just yet.
“Tony,” Steve said, voice soft and pained.
“I grew up with that,” Tony pushed on. He dropped his hand and glared at Steve. “But I’m not going to let Peter grow up with that too. He’s my kid, Steve. Mine.”

Summary
With Kang's army winning along with part of the universe collapsing in on itself you’d think Peter would feel less guilty for dying. He fought with colleagues and friends and watched so many of them die. Soon I'd be his turn.
So when Strange said he would send one of them back in time since the universe was dying anyway he didn't think it was going to be him. Given his fatal wounds and proximity to several powerful people he assumed he was in the clear.
With great power comes great responsibility. He shouldn't have expected them to be equal.
Goddamn Parker Luck.
