How long have I been gone?” Nicky’s eyes rake Sparrow up and down and Sparrow looks his age on a good day, but today, hungover and unshaven, he must look to the long gone Nicky like the crypt keeper.

Three months after the Doodler returned home the Kiddads are surviving in various states of functioning. Sparrow's being walled off by his kids, Grant's numb, Lark's getting his life back together after a full blown meltdown, and Terry can't seem to pull himself away from his favorite crutch, work. It's in the midst of this turmoil that an old friend comes stumbling back into their lives. Nicky is back, and apparently with no memory of the betrayal or the nine years following.
