Summary
There’s a hand on the side of his face, tilting his head up enough to meet the eyes that are staring down at him so intently. Itadori’s eyes, Megumi’s brain helpfully supplies after a moment. Big, brown, worried eyes with pupils blown wide beneath a furrowed brow. Itadori’s hand is on his face, and he’s looking down at Megumi, and he looks worried.
What’s he so worried about?
Another rush of flushed heat pours through his torso, his abdomen feeling as though it’s being shredded from the inside out, and Megumi involuntarily squeezes his eyes shut, cut off from staring back up at those familiar, soft, pretty brown eyes.
Why is Itadori so concerned? He looks better when he’s happy. Unburdened.

Summary
It’s like this— maybe Megumi has made mistakes in the past, errors in judgement, moved purely on impulse in a way that had a domino effect on Yuuji’s life, dragged him into a world of curses and violence. Maybe if he had the choice to go back, Megumi would be faster, smarter, make better choices and avoid every hospital in Sendai. But he can’t. What’s done is done. What he can do is be there for Yuuji now, when he needs him, so that he’d never have to look over his shoulder and find himself alone.
Just like he said he would.“Okay,” Megumi says, relaxing his hands. He places them on the tabletop in front of him like he’s got nothing to hide, and stares straight ahead at the stove. “If you need help cleaning up your undercut, I can help you trim it. If you want.”
Yuuji goes maddeningly silent for a moment, long enough for Megumi to regret even offering, until he blurts out a delighted “Really?”
Two months after Shinjuku, Megumi helps Yuuji cut his hair.

Summary
Sukuna was not a charitable man. When something belongs to him, it will always be his. Itadori Yuuji was meant to only be a temporary measure. Sukuna was supposed to leave the brat to die a miserable death. That had been his plan until he realised who the brat was. He knows now. And nobody was taking that boy from him again.

Summary
For the most part, Yuuji’d been okay with all this. The condemned to die part of his life, at least. He’s always been better off living for someone else, whether for Gramps or his friends or the rest of humanity, so it makes sense that he’ll die for them all too. Sure, he’ll die young, and who knows what all he’ll miss, but that’s all the more reason to live with what he’s got.
The parts he’s not okay with leave him scrubbing blood out from beneath his nails for days, broken and cracked from suddenly growing out too long and too dark in the times when his memory is nothing but a blank.
After Shibuya, Yuuji has nightmares. Watching horror movies late into the night doesn't help with them, but it's better than the alternative.
