Summary
When an upstart Touga asked for her hand in marriage, Inukimi never imagined such a loyal dog would stray from her side. But after seven centuries of dissecting their feelings for each other, Touga suddenly leaves her for a human princess, Izayoi. Unable to cope with the loss, Inukimi bides her time.
Another seven hundred years later, Sesshoumaru makes the same choice as his father in mating a human. When he tells his mother, Inukimi lashes out at Sesshoumaru and Touga, then retreats to her bedroom. Touga storms after her to make her see reason but instead unearths unresolved feelings centuries in the making.
