    In the hours after Order 66 nothing is certain. Even from within his prison cell, Darth Maul can feel that the future of the galaxy is in flux. In this bizarre window of time, everything is changing... and when the universe swings back into balance, Maul finds that while Anakin Skywalker has become a servant of the dark, his own place in the galaxy has become unclear. Sidious has all but condemned him to death, and Maul can't shake the strangest feeling that the Force is bringing him ever closer to Obi-Wan.

    A/N: This story is in its final, though incomplete form. It is marked as completed, because there will not be subsequent chapters. And I feel I said what I set out to say. I do not think you will be disappointed with what exists, please consider Chapter 39 the finale and the following chapters some fun bonus material! Thank you!

    Obi-Wan's lightsaber remained clipped to his belt, and it wasn’t until he was standing right next to Maul that Ahsoka realized that neither of them were about to fight.

    He pushed back his hood, revealing a familiar face, though slightly weathered from five years in the Tatooine desert, with a few gray strands in his hair, and his facial hair more stubble than beard… but Ahsoka barely noticed those changes as she stared into the eyes of the man who had once been her Master’s Master.

    Eyes that were now a bloodshot gold.

    “Hello there, Ahsoka,” he said with a smile that was far too cold, a smile that caused Ahsoka’s blood to freeze in her veins as she sensed the Dark Side wrapping itself around him like a heavy cloak. “It’s been a long time, hasn’t it?”

    Obi-Wan Skywalker is a sick child who should not exist. With visions of a life as Obi-Wan Kenobi and a body slowly rejecting the Force within him, he is brought to the Jedi Temple in search of a cure. But the more the Jedi try to fix him, the more it becomes clear that his existence is tied to something far larger than illness.

    Or: Obi-Wan is reincarnated as Anakin Skywalkers twin. But he just knows glimpses of his previous life and is chronically ill.
