Summary
As a prisoner and break-in tool of the Consolidation of Irons, Simon never expected to be much of anything important. He wets his lips anxiously, putting his hands in front of him in defence. “Tom, can you, uhm, can you just tell me why you’re here, please? I’m really confused. I don’t understand why—I don’t understand what’s going on.”
Tom smiles at him, his brow creasing momentarily like he’s concerned for Grace—as though he doesn’t understand Grace’s obvious fear. “Aw, c’mon, it’s not that confusing. I’m here to take you home.” He laughs. “Well, your new home, obviously.”
