    Summary

In 2008, Shane Hollander was the Next Big Thing in hockey. Then a baby he didn't know he had changed everything. Shane walked away from the MLH draft, choosing a life of diapers and midnight feedings over the Stanley Cup. Eighteen years later, his life is back on track, and his greatest achievement is about to make his MLH debut for the Ottawa Centaurs.

Ilya Rozanov, captain of the Centaurs, has only one goal: secure his Canadian citizenship, come out, and finally live life on his own terms. He remembers Shane Hollander as a pretty boy from a World Juniors game in Saskatchewan. He doesn't expect to find that same boy back in his sightlines—not as a player, but as the father of his newest rookie.

Or: The one where Shane is a world-class "dadager", Ilya is a pining captain, and Luca Hollander just wants to play his rookie season without his captain and his father making heart eyes at each other across the family lounge.

HE ADOPTED HER AS A ROOKIE???

    @historybuff617
The adoption story is actually pretty well known around Boston.

After he was drafted, Shane flew to Japan to visit his grandparents in Kyoto before reporting to the organization.

On the trip back, he stopped in Paris and met a young woman who was trying to escape an abusive husband.

He helped her get safely to Canada, connected her with organizations that support women fleeing domestic violence, and stayed in contact while she got back on her feet.

When she gave birth by the end of his first year as a professional baseball player, she made the incredibly difficult decision to place the baby for adoption.

    Shane adopted her.

Her name is Sofia Yuna Hollander.

Using a Site-Skin to Flag AI Artifacts in Fan Fiction by

    Fandoms: No Fandom, Original Work

    Summary

A guide on creating a site skin for detecting specific AI artifacts present in a fic's html that indicate usage of an LLM.

This is intended for personal use, as a means of informed decision making. THE AUTHOR DOES NOT CONDONE WITCH HUNTS OR HARASSMENT.

The site skin will only flag fics that have very specific HTML artifacts present, and which can ONLY make their way into fics by directly copying from an LLM into AO3's rich text editor. This is not a site-skin based on spotting "common patterns," but rather one that is based on provable technical indicators of said AI usage. It does not have any way of differentiating how the LLM was used.

    Totally Real Canadian Boyfriend™️ by

Fandoms: Heated Rivalry (TV), Game Changers Series - Rachel Reid

    Summary

Ilya Rozanov, captain of the Boston Raiders, has a boyfriend. A definitely real, suspiciously (and boringly) handsome, conveniently offline, consistently unable to meet up in real life boyfriend.

    Who lives in Canada.

Unfortunately for him, absolutely no one believes him.

The more serious Ilya gets about his Totally Real Canadian Boyfriend™️, the more concerned his teammates become that someone either needs to call MTV and get him on the next episode of Catfish or that he's slowly losing his mind.

Shane Hollander is, fortunately, very real, very sarcastic, and increasingly delighted that an entire NHL locker room seems to think that he's a government psyop to distract Ilya from his game.

    Summary

    "Hi, solnyshko.”
The Russian pet name set a firework off inside Shane's mind as he heard it cooed from behind him. The intonation was just as he remembered, but the voice was much deeper.

He turned and felt himself short circuit. It took every ounce of willpower to not let his jaw drop cartoonishly to the floor. Shane would recognize his individual features anywhere, even after 5 years. But it was as if someone had snapped their fingers and the smug, silly Russian boy who had been attached to Shane's hip for 3 summers was transformed into some sort of fucking Adonis right before his eyes.

“Ilya-” was all Shane managed before strong arms were wrapped around his waist and lifting him off the ground in a greeting all too familiar from years ago.

    OR
When Shane Hollander & Ilya Rozanov spent their summers as teens in an elite hockey camp, they quickly became inseparable friends. But they lose touch when Shane moves on as a prospect for the NHL and Ilya for the KHL.

Years later, Montreal makes a bold move to take the hottest player in the KHL. After hearing of the Russian's reputation, the Montreal Captain is tasked with keeping his old best friend and new teammate out of trouble.
