Summary
This was a waste of a perfect spring day.
The first truly warm and pleasant day of the season had made itself known this morning, summoning Arthur from his slumber in a rare peaceful moment. That is, before his memory had caught up to him, snaking up his chest and catching in his throat in cold dread.
As he stood in the courtyard, waiting irritably for his betrothed to ride through the castle gates, he wished for a different day. A different fate; a chance for his own search for love.
But that day would not come.

Summary
Colin Bridgerton is 33 years old and very sure of himself. At least, that is what any of his seven siblings would tell you. He's the lovable teddy bear with an ease about him that makes everyone feel comfortable in his presence. Never taking himself, or any situation all that seriously. And then he meets Penelope Featherington in a busy London pub and everything he thought he knew about himself changes.

Summary
It was 1991 when Penelope, struggling to get pregnant in her marriage to Alfred Debling, made a bold and socially frowned-upon decision for the time: artificial insemination with the help of an anonymous donor.
Four years later, after a difficult divorce from an abusive husband and raising a son who still carries the emotional scars of that past, Penelope is doing her best to rebuild her life. Until a data breach at the fertility clinic exposes identities once promised lifelong confidentiality – and a stranger, with the same eyes as her son, appears at her doorstep.
—•—
“Is there something I can help you with?”
Penelope touched her son’s head with one hand and gripped the doorknob with the other, confusion and unease tightening in her chest as she watched the man before her regard her child with quiet curiosity.
“I… I have reason to believe I’m the biological father of your son.”

Summary
Colin is supposed to be abroad and drinking, touring, and perhaps even raking his way across the continent. Instead, he is stuck in England managing a modest yet still cumbersome country estate, grieving a recently deceased wife who apparently never loved him, and caring for a pair of newborn twin babies sired by a former lover of that same wife of his. He is trapped in a perpetual state of wretchedness as he tries to come to terms with so many seemingly insurmountable responsibilities before him. The only recent success comes in the form of a wet nurse he managed to hire. He is certain the disarming young redhead with abundant curves will be able to offer the babies the care and nourishment they so desperately require. With that rather significant concern off his plate, he expects he will be left with more time to wallow and slowly descend deeper into a state of despair in peace. He is not prepared, however, for that nurse’s unique brand of tenderness and care to extend beyond the twins, and he is certainly not prepared for the ways in which she just might be capable of healing his broken heart and soul.
