    Summary

The snow crunched beneath her boots, making a satisfying sound that soothed a weird part of her brain. At least she had boots on that protected her feet from the snow however, the cape Gem wore did nothing to protect her from the biting cold, making her shiver as she continued to look for the snow. Powdered snow usually generated in large patches so it should’ve been easy to find some.

What Gem didn’t expect was to find herself stuck in powdered snow and only then did she realise her grave mistake. She had forgotten to wear leather boots.

Or Gem gets hypothermia but the hermits save her <3

    Prompt: hypothermia

    Summary

Humans are largely an undocumented species in the greater universe. All who had ever tried to reach the outer cosmos had not survived; all but one, that is.

X, also known as Xisuma, found himself on the other side of the universe with nothing but what he had on him when he was taken. He decided that this was a prime opportunity to screw around and find out. One by one, Xisuma assembled the crew of the Hermitcraft, a ragtag team of misfit aliens from all across the cosmos. He showed them kindness and compassion, different than anything they ever knew, and they became stronger together.

This is how the crew of The Hermitcraft came to be.

    Summary

“Scar, I know how it looks, but I’m not trespassing,” Grian blurted. He was scraped up all over, now that Scar was really paying attention: his face and arms and legs were torn, clothes tattered like he’d dived right through a rosebush. He was trembling. “I’m– I’m resting for a brief moment, nothing else. I’ll be out of your hair in the morning, I’ll make that a promise, and the next time I come by, I’ll bring you a dead mouse to repay you, or a live mouse, or I’ll just, I’ll owe you, I don’t know–”

“I mean, sure, if you say so,” Scar agreed, and Grian cut off, shrinking away. Scar’s heart twisted. “A dead mouse, a live mouse, an unspecified IOU to be collected at a later date, all of these currencies and more are accepted here at Trader Scar’s. We have a very strict non-discrimination policy, I’ll have you know. Very strict.”

Grian blinked at him and unfurled the slightest bit. His bad wing– and it was a bad wing, Scar could tell, a very injured wing indeed– tucked in, wound weeping sluggishly onto the basement’s concrete windowsill. Scar had to take a second to reinforce his smile, gentling his whole demeanor so Grian would stop looking at him like that.

    Summary

The power fluctuated, lights going out. Phil was lying on the floor, staring at the ceiling, but his eyes might as well have been closed. The darkness was so complete it was like it clasped its fingers in his, breathed through his throat-- and then, slowly, he became aware of a shift on the other side of the glass. Faint, distant movement. A soft pulse of light, pinkish-red mingled with off-white, gentle bioluminescent flickers in the engulfing blackness. Fear twisted so far around that it turned to wonder.

He thought the lights were multiple creatures close together, at first. Then the emergency lights hummed back on, and the lights on the other side suddenly resolved into a being, a huge one with a long snaking tail and brightness down its side and shoulders and flowing hair and was that a goddamn fucking mer--

The mer reeled back and disappeared into the gloom. Phil stared after it and said blankly, forgetting it was only a plush crow listening: "What the actual fuck."

    Summary

War is the only thing Tommy knows.

He learned it thoroughly. Growing into it, living it the way he was taught. He is a fighter in the troops of the DUNE, a soldier of his home the Democratic United Nations of Earth.

For his home he will bear arms and go into battle. For his home he will win. For his home he will bleed.

For the Earth he will die.

or: Tommy has internal crisis after internal crisis as he realizes that maybe the humans aren't as in the right as he thought they were and that he apparently does have a conscience when it comes to unarmed extra-terrestrials.
