Summary
Sure enough, when Garp stepped back out, he came with a baby carefully cradled in one hand. Buggy squeaked, and Shanks finished scrambling all the way up onto his feet. “Whyyy do you have a baby?”
“He’s my grandson!” Garp grinned. “Here!” And without further to-do, he tossed the infant.

Summary
He expected to spend more time shivering than sleeping; except, somehow, between one breath and the next, a warmth seemed to spread over him, pressing in with a gentle weight entirely unlike anything he’d ever experienced. Comforted in spite of himself, the boy rolled over to better snuggle down into the warm softness, and fell instantly asleep.
Or: being the Pirate King’s son means a lot of people unknowingly tell Ace he never should have been born. It also means several items formerly belonging to Gold Roger make their way into his possession, whether he wants them to or not.
For instance, a coat. A sword. A rather opinionated ship.
(The Hat considers it. The Hat decides to stay with someone else, instead, but that’s alright, considering the someone else is still family.)

Summary
Peering over the edge, Zoro expected to see a Sea King, maybe some debris floating in their wake, or perhaps one of the ship's smaller boats had come loose. Instead, what he saw made his breath catch in his throat and his heart skip several beats.
There, illuminated by the ethereal glow of the moon reflecting off the water's surface, was Sanji. But this wasn't the Sanji he'd known for years, the chain-smoking cook who kicked his way through battles and flirted with every woman they encountered. This Sanji was something else entirely, something that belonged more to legend than reality. Where the cook's familiar long legs should have been was an elegant, powerful tail that seemed to capture and reflect every ray of moonlight.
Zoro stood there, his mind struggling to process what he'd seen. A mermaid. Sanji was a mermaid. The implications hit him like physical blows, the danger this put their cook in, the trust that would be shattered if anyone with ill intentions discovered the truth, the sheer vulnerability of the secret he now carried.
As the swordsman finally made his way back to his own quarters, one thought echoed in his mind above all others: How long had Sanji been carrying this burden alone?

Summary
Long blond hair tied back in an ocean messy braid, a section of it undone in a curtain around his face. A wide smile, splitting a handsome face clean in half. The line of his neck leading to wide shoulders and a muscled torso, the lean bulking shape of them only emphasized by deadly quills.
And Pedro, Pedro feels that smile crack his chest clean open, as wide as the unbearable space between the dry sand and that shadowed slice of ocean.

A chance moment of pain brings love back into Pedro's life.
