Vex rarely went a day without a speck of blue, mainly due to her feathers, and the choice of colors shouldn’t surprise him. It did anyway, calling to mind his own navy-and-gold ensemble, causing his heart to leap briefly to the base of his throat before he stuffed it back down. He picked up one of the necklaces—the golden one, with a blue star—and held it out to her.
“Sounds like this would match it perfectly, then.”
