Avoiding the confusion on the man’s face, Quackity took to looking around the cabin. He realized quickly that it was lit by a single fire that blazed brightly in the corner, its light dancing along the gold embellishments that crawled over the edges of the fireplace in an unnerving dance- something about it reminded him of Technoblade.
Quackity’s fingers felt swollen and itchy and hot all at once, but he couldn’t relax the fist he was forming with them. Phil had been nice, borderline welcoming, but Quackity wasn’t about to let his little get-them-comfortable-to-tell-me-what’s-wrong spiel work on him the same way it worked on the man’s kids.
“I’m afraid I don’t understand mate. If I can’t fix them, how do you want me to help you-”
“I want you to cut them off.”

Quackity was the guy who planned. Most people didn’t think it when they met, but he was always watching and always in control, even when they couldn’t see it. That’s why he’d been ready. He’d had a lot of time to come to terms with his death and he wasn’t afraid. Quackity was ready for it all to be over. Too bad the heroes had other plans.
