Scary didn't really remember her dad.
And it was fine, and it was normal.
Well, normal in a really cool, twisted kind of way. Like other people's worst day ever, and it was just like her Monday or something. Not even a Monday- Monday was a day, like people talked about Monday, they dreaded it. Linc talked about Mondays all the time, although that seemed like more of a Garfield thing than something that was like, part of Linc inherently.
The kind of fucked up, evil normal that her boring stupid not-memories of her dad didn't even qualify for. He was a Thursday, nobody gives a shit about Thursdays. It's not like the premium free kick, joy-ride of FridaySaturdaySunday. Not the hesitant hopeful, glass half full Normal shtick of Wednesday 'hump day'. Not even mostly-unremarkable-except-for-Taco-Tuesday.
He was a dismal, dreary Thursday, and not in the good way.

Ron Stampler had been in urgent foster care placement for about 7 months, 2 weeks and a day. It didn't feel very urgently appointed anymore, if you asked him. Which nobody had so far.
Glenn Close had only been in this stupid fucking halfway house for a few minutes and he hated it. It wasn't his first, or his second. It was his third. He had left his social worker scrambling after his second escape attempt and been labelled a "flight risk". Whatever, wasn't like this shit hole could hold him for long.

Summary
It's 2am in an apartment up town. Two people sleep, a restless sort of sleep. Their brows are furrowed even as their minds wander.
There is a palpable air of uncertainty left from their dinner time topic of conversation.
Said topic is not yet asleep. He is sat at his desk, scribbling something in a crowded notebook. He is trying, unsuccessfully, to ignore the twisting ball of vague animal forms.
It is understandable that he would unsuccessful, for several reasons.
