Summary
Percy learned he wasn't a normal human on one ordinary day at the beach. First he thought he was a waterbender (like Master Katara), then he thought he was a demititan (why else would Triton be so worried about his parentage?), and then he was told he was a demigod. Now he's got to deal with the rising conflict and a war on the horizon while learning how to be a good prince of the sea.

Summary
Peter Parker wasn't surprised when his parents died. Completely heartbroken, but not surprised. He had always known his luck in life, the cards he had been dealt. The only kid in school who noticed him, Flash Thompson, reminded him of that every day. How his "Parker Luck" would be the destruction of all good things. Only beginning to touch the iceberg of grief, Peter is sent to a family friend and biologist, Skip Westcott. And things just kept spiraling from there.
Or…
What if Peter didn’t have an Uncle Ben to go to after his parent’s accident? What if, instead, he had a family friend?

Summary
He loses himself in swallowing gasoline and baseball bats and the thrill of gunfire.
He feels himself burning and he lets it happen–he lets his matchbox teeth scrape against his sandpaper tongue and he sets himself on fire. He sets himself on fire so as he swings he is a comet of righteous fury, of justice and oaths bound between the lips of tragedy. He sets himself on fire so that he can be a beacon of light, a safe harbor for shivering, sobbing people.
Spider Man is a vigilante.
