Rumi touched her fingers to her ribs. She could feel the heat radiating from her skin, even through her clothes. A distant, miserable part of her said, this is going to hurt.
She pushed her fingers down.
The rib shifted.
The thing about telling one very big lie is that it requires a foundation of hundreds of smaller lies to hold it up, lies such as "I'm fine," and "nothing's broken," and "it doesn't hurt."
Rumi finds this out the hard way.

rumi nods as best as she can with her face stuffed into a hole.
“sounds good,” she croaks. now she’ll also go to hell for being a liar, because nothing about what’s about to happen sounds good. it sounds awful and terrifying that a beautiful woman with presumably soft hands is going to be touching her naked body when she was so unprepared for this, even if ‘full body’ should have been indicative that she’d be getting quite naked. she just really didn’t anticipate mira.

She might be risking everything if she did this. Even if they all survived, she might not have a relationship to come back to. Would they be able to understand that she didn’t want to hurt, didn’t want to die anymore, that she had run out of options? Would they hate her if all she left them with was a grave next to her mothers?
Did it matter if they hated her, as long as they were both alive to do so?
