Summary
Acting as Anakin Skywalker's confidante is probably the most painful aspect of pretending to be kind and sympathetic Supreme Chancellor Sheev Palpatine. It seems that every other week, Skywalker is in love with another paramour who will leave him heartbroken within months. And as Skywalker's mentor and father figure, it is Darth Sidious' job to pick up those pieces and lend a compassionate ear to Skywalker's suffering. Every. Single. Time.
It's only after several years of this routine that Sidious realizes that he can solve two of his problems in one fell swoop: if he can convince Skywalker that he is in love with his old Jedi master, Kenobi, then Skywalker will inevitably have his heart broken by the man when their relationship fizzles into nothing. Then his strongest tether to the Light will be severed, and Sidious can claim Skywalker as his apprentice.
Because surely Skywalker's feelings for Kenobi are not returned. Surely Kenobi has more sense than to be enamored beyond reason with his former padawan. Surely all Sidious has to do is push Skywalker in Kenobi's direction and then watch the fallout.

Summary
Aang would often braid together the words of the Air Nomads' native tongue. A language of flute-like whistles that was often considered the most beautiful language in the world. It was a language that only an airbender could properly form the sounds for. His friends probably didn't know what it was. They would tell him how beautiful it was, but they didn't understand the sorrow and loneliness that he wove between the currents of air. They didn't understand it was a desperate plea for someone to just answer—to tell him he wasn't alone.
Zuko didn't know what the hauntingly beautiful sound on the wind was, nor why his uncle couldn't understand the pain that was braided into it. He thought he was the only airbender in the world. For the first time in his life, he dared to hope he was wrong.

Summary
When Katara, Sokka, and Yue go after Zuko, who has kidnapped Aang, they definitely don’t expect him and Aang to already be returning to Agna Qel’a, ready to confront Zhao together.
And they definitely don’t expect them to be arguing about things that haven’t even happened yet.
Or: post–Season 3 Zuko and Aang time-travel to the Season 1 finale. Katara, Sokka, and Yue are caught in the middle.

Or: Zuko is Kuzon’s reincarnation. Remembering the world before the Hundred Year War, he realizes that something has went very wrong with the Fire Nation much earlier than in canon.
