She felt his breath on her neck, his lips brushing the shell of her ear when he spoke, “I don’t think I heard you right.” She gulped, stomach dropping as one of his arms snaked around her waist, the other came up to rest on her throat. She needed to disentangle herself, to get away from him, but he was too strong, and if she was being honest, she wasn’t trying terribly hard to get away.
