His mother squeezed his form tightly as the doctor stated with a grim look that Izuku was quirkless. His mother held her breath as fear filled her eyes as Izuku felt his hopeful expression disappear.
‘Hisashi would surely be pissed about this.’

Summary

He didn’t want to win. Couldn’t. Because here, victory wasn’t safety. It was exposure.
“Check,” Sabo murmured, his voice low like a warning.
Luffy furrowed his brow, putting on a show of confusion.
“Huh? How did you do that?”
Above, Ace turned his face away, as if not wanting to watch. But he didn’t leave. Didn’t sleep. He just stayed there, listening. His body stiff, caught between the urge to get up and the duty to let Luffy fight in his own way.
“You forgot to protect the queen,” Sabo said, almost kindly.
“Ah! I’m terrible at this!” Luffy laughed, too loud. Too fast.
A lie.
Sabo had seen. Ace too.
Still watching from above, he took a deep breath, eyes fixed on the ceiling as if looking for an answer there. But there was none. Only muffled voices, the dry sound of pieces being moved. And a stomach burning with the silent rage of someone who doesn’t know whether to protect… or let him learn to survive on his own.

Summary
The city never slept — it just pretended to.
Sirens in the distance, neon lights flickering like they were about to give up, and somewhere between it all, three lives were about to collide.
Luffy was laughing.
Not the normal kind of laugh — not the kind people used when something was actually funny. This one was louder, messier, like he didn’t care who was watching.
“Run faster!” he shouted, turning his head just enough to grin.
Behind him, Ace clicked his tongue, already out of breath. “I swear to God, I’m gonna kill you if we get caught.”
“You say that every time,” Luffy shot back.
“And one day I’ll mean it.”
A third voice cut in, calmer, sharper.
“You both run like idiots.”
Sabo.
He was ahead of them now — somehow — weaving through people like he had memorized the city itself. His blonde hair caught the streetlight for a second before he disappeared into the alley.
Luffy didn’t hesitate. He followed.
Ace groaned. “Of course he found a shortcut.”
By the time they reached the alley, Sabo was already leaning against the wall, arms crossed, breathing steady.
Luffy stopped in front of him, still smiling.

Summary
The path towards the sun, towards freedom, is not an easy path. Ace, Sabo and Luffy, three brothers with dreams of seeking such freedom, know this better than anyone. Five years on, and it almost seems hopeless. But perhaps a few helping hands, and an old pirate's offer, can give them everything the world had tried so hard to take away.
