Summary
“Also, you’re ugly. And you’re obsessed with gross stuff.” Kurt points at Sebastian’s stupid weird picture book, feeling like he has gained the upper hand for the first time in his life. He sneers, "I wouldn’t fall in love with you either, not even if you were the last boy on Earth.”
Sebastian stares at him, his eyes wide. Kurt tightens his jaw, glaring and refusing to back down.
Things happen too fast for either of them to think it over.
Before glee club, before Dave Karofsky or Blaine Anderson or Shirley Temples with extra cherries and rock salt slushies, Kurt and Sebastian have a less than charmed first meeting in a playground castle. Though the memory is too faded for them to recognize each other when they meet again and again years down the line, the encounter leaves an impression that lasts too long to have just been skin-deep.
Well, no. Sebastian’s giant horse teeth did draw just a little blood. That probably did the trick.

Don’t get Alex wrong, okay — he loves the guys. They’ve been through hell and back together, the four of them; they’ve been like family to him every time his real family has let him down. Bobby’s garage may as well have a sign on the front declaring, The Shaw Family's Garage for Wayward Social Outcasts with how much time he, Luke, and Reggie spend there together in solace from their own miserable homelives. They may as well have matching blood oath scars in the shape of a setting sun.
That being said — Alex has been living quite the double life. Or triple life, maybe.

Sebastian had always thought of Kurt as an oddball, ever since their first interaction at Dalton. And even after they started dating, that perception he has of his boyfriend had yet to change.
And from what Sebastian could gather of the tales told from Kurt out of fondness, and from Burt out of uneasiness, a lot of Kurt’s peculiarities stemmed from his mother’s side of the family– who Sebastian had heard a lot about, but has yet to meet.
That is, until a death in the family causes Kurt to travel to New Jersey, with Sebastian coming along with him.
