Summary
The war between Ishigami Village and Tsukasa begins in earnest, and Gen is dedicated to making sure things run smoother in this timeline. However, he is struggling to come to terms with what has happened to him while trying to balance speeding up progress with ensuring he isn't stealing other people's special moments.
Senku is under so much stress, he doesn't know what he would do without the mentalist helping carry that load. Gen doesn't seem to value himself very much, and seems to be sliding into depression and that - that he can't stand. He may not have the faintest idea what to do with these messy, inconvenient feelings, but he knows he wants Gen standing tall with him no matter what challenges they have to face.

Summary
Ishigami Byakuya left a legacy for his eldest child, and Senkuu isn't sure he appreciates it. He grieves the loss of his father while struggling to accept what Ruri has told him about the people of Ishigami village.
His whole chest felt ripped open and he'd blinked out a pair of tears when Gen tore away the vague way dad had always danced around uncomfortable things to expose the brutal truth that Senkuu became an older brother, and his family had needed him, but he wasn't there to help because he was petrified.
The end of episode 17 set in my 'Gen gets a do-over' AU. The final scene won't make a lot of sense without reading part 1.
