Summary
Rather than simply never speaking her to again after Elizabeth refuses Mr. Collins, Mrs. Bennet casts her out of the house. No one is to allow her back in or even go search for her. As Elizabeth formulates a plan, a storm blows through Hertfordshire, bringing with it torrential rains and heavy winds, which fell trees and topple fences, not to mention drench the ground, making any kind of travel impossible. Caught out in the woods, Elizabeth is struck by a fallen tree searching for shelter and found by Mr. Darcy the next morning, but she has no idea who she is, where she is, or what happened to her.
