Summary
Inspired by the famous Simpsons episode '22 Short Films About Springfield'. While the escapades of the titular Thomas and his friends are the main focus of the show, there are dozens of other engines living on the island who all have their own lives and stories to tell. How about we take a look at some of those stories, spanning just a few hundred words in length? 22 stories, to be exact.
(No, there is no 'Steamed Hams' bit, but I am absolutely going to reference it in some fashion cos I'm not going to waste a good 'steam' joke.)

Summary
Long before he arrived on Sodor, Dart worked in the yards on the mainland. Being assigned there wasn't especially fun. The other diesels were a lot bigger than him and not the nicest engines around. But there's one diesel engine there who the others don't seem to like at all. The one they have chosen to nickname 'Dimwit'. A BIG diesel by the name of Den.
In no time at all, however, Dart finds that Den isn't as 'slow' as the other diesels seem to think. Quite the opposite. He's actually very insightful, just really shy and very bad with words. All that big diesel needs is someone who understands him. And just like that, begins a friendship that would never be separated.
OR, I ended up falling in love (platonically) with Den and Dart while making a YouTube video, so you get an origin story.

Summary
Charlie is a very funny tank engine who loves telling jokes. It's his favourite thing to do in the whole world! But underneath all those puns and laughs is an ever-looming dread that something is wrong with him. He doesn't know what. Or why. But something is off. If only he could figure it out…
Pieces start falling into place, however, when he's to escort an inspector to the china clay pits. A fascinating conversation between the Inspector and the clay twins reveals something about those twins that Charlie never knew. And it might just help him… or perhaps 'her'… figure out what's wrong.
(OR, the rumours and speculation over Charlie being genderswapped in the 2026 show inspired me to write a story about her realising that she's actually a girl.)

My own personal take on why Rosie repainted herself red. Not exactly an original one, but I like this idea. Rosie, the victim of a very unfortunate accident, finds herself stuck in the steamworks for a long time. A very long time. All the while, Victor is there. A calm, friendly voice that keeps her grounded during the worst part of her life.
When the time comes to repaint her coat, she makes a big decision.
