Summary
AU of Season 6 ending (canon compliant until The Man Who Knew Too Much, au from there on). Castiel and Crowley are close to finding Purgatory and claiming the souls inside, Crowley to secure his seat in Hell, and Castiel to end the war with Raphael once and for all. But with Bobby Singer and the Winchester's rapidly gaining ground against them, Castiel makes a desperate move to grind their progress to a halt and keep his found family safe against the archangel looking to restart the apocalypse. But when that move triggers a series of consequences that leaves one member of Team Free Will completely and utterly vulnerable, will Cas be able to repair his mistake, and save the family he was fighting for? Or, in his quest for power, will he break his family for good?

He's been struggling more than usual, and he finds himself in a psychiatric ward, facing a life-changing diagnosis that he’s long avoided.
If you live with DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder) or OSDD, please make extra sure you read the trigger warnings.
The title is from Steve Tannen's beautiful song Brother Uptown.

“We should have stayed in bed!” Rowena calls from across the room, hands ablaze in violet and irises fuchsia. Sam snorts, shooting off another silver bullet and managing to miss by mere centimeters as the werewolf dodged him.
“After this hunt- we’re laying low for a while!” he calls back, and watches as she blasts the werewolf square in the chest, pride rattling through him. “Just you, me, and whatever five-star hotel you want!”
or, Sam gets amnesia five years into his relationship with Rowena- catapulting him a decade back to when they were sworn enemies.
