When he opened the door, he expected to find high-value goods, or maybe an office full of ledgers and manifests. Instead, he found a bedroom, probably where Rocco stayed while here. The furniture was finely carved wood, at odds with the old, water-damaged walls. The uneven floor was covered by a plush rug. A large bed took up most of the space, especially compared to the small, huddled figure chained by the throat at the foot of it.

Perhaps that’s why he doesn’t think his wish through. Perhaps it’s just the grief and the bone-deep exhaustion he’s accumulated over the past eight years deciding to rear its head. Yoojin doesn’t know.
But when he makes his wish, he just asks to be taken back to prevent his brother’s death, no matter how many tries it takes.
He regrets the wish almost immediately.
Or, Yoojin words his wish differently and changes things both for the better and for the worse.
