Summary
John Torres knew that his failing marriage and life on Kessik IV weren't good for his only daughter. A move to Earth and a remarriage later, the Torres family moves to San Francisco, across the street from Admiral Owen Paris and his accomplished children. B'Elanna quickly becomes friends with Tom Paris, and after a childhood falling out, eventually becomes something more. Until a crashed shuttle and warp core breach derail two promising Starfleet careers and send two young officers on different paths--only to meet up again in the delta quadrant.
This is an AU, or, more accurately, an AU of an AU (of an AU?). This is the story of the universe that the Second Chances B'Elanna Torres got a brief glimpse of.

Summary
Voyager is hijacked by a hostile alien society, her crew scattered across a barren wasteland of a planet. Isolated from everything he knows, Tom Paris must rely on his talents for flying and survival just to make it through each day. His job brings him to a harrowing, hellish factory compound where he finds a familiar face: B'Elanna Torres. She's the only person with the ingenuity and resourcefulness to secure their escape, but before B'Elanna can save Voyager, Tom must save B'Elanna. An AU that takes place in early season three.
