It's always the smallest things that can change the world. It's what Daxter thinks to himself eight years after he sent the younger version of his best friend back in time. Daxter holds the Amulet of Mar hoping that one day he'll find Jak and give it to him like he promised. Ten years in a city like Haven, still under the rule of Praxis and at war with the metalheads drains the optimism out of anyone.

Something was standing above his towel.
No… someone.
They seemed to be observing the towel, claws tapping against the material with what he took as curiosity, pinching it between the appendage.
Was it Rocky? It’d make sense, the Eridian would certainly have something harsh to say about him leaving his stuff laying around. He always had some mean quip to insult his shoddy human memory.
He opened his mouth to defend himself before Rocky could say something snappy, when the figure then moved, stocky legs rising from beneath their carapace and lifting them to their full standing height.
They were tall. Too tall.
That wasn’t Rocky.
OR
Grace receives an unexpected visitor one night in his home on Erid.

To many, the call to return to the ocean is instinctual, a feeling deep in their bones that goes far beyond any rational reasoning. To float amongst the waves, to kick and splash until it feels as though you were always part of the water, is to be entirely free.

He catches a glimpse of himself in the small mirror across the room.
It’s as if he’s been frozen in time. Nothing about him has changed since he last touched the surface of his home planet.
But of course, that’s not true. Everything has changed.
He doesn’t understand. He doesn’t know what this means. He’s a man of science. There are rules, immutable laws of the universe, no matter where in the universe one is. Entropy, decay, deterioration. Everything in the universe experiences it.
Everything except him, it seems.
Or: While on Erid, Ryland Grace makes a startling realization: he seems to have stopped aging.
