Although they did write some work related events on it to not draw suspicion, it was first and foremost used to indicate when Shane wanted Ilya to use him. For Ilya to take what he wanted, whenever and wherever. This would be indicated by a red square drawn around the numbered date of whichever day Shane has chosen.
