Nobody knew Sakura had held pressure on a dying boy’s wounds while a missing-nin demanded that she perform surgery she had never been trained to attempt.
Nobody knew Kakashi had driven lightning through another man’s body and, for an instant, believed he had killed Rin again.
Konoha continued.

Naruto, balanced on the porch railing, pointed at Kakashi.
“I told you.”
“You have no structural training.”
“I have eyes.”
“Unfortunately.”

Kakashi made that decision before Yamato finished explaining the altered weight. The veranda was part of the home, protected by the compound barrier but crossed daily by children, friends, messengers and shinobi who had learned that the western wall was apparently a philosophical suggestion. A box connected to an active covert network did not belong beside Naruto's abandoned sandals or beneath the window Genma preferred to use instead of the gate.
Sasuke agreed with the decision and disliked it anyway.

There had been a time when Sasuke would have treated the presence of another person's trap as an argument for solitude. He would have carried both messages into the Uchiha district, opened them beneath barriers no one else knew and returned only after deciding which pieces of the truth his teammates were permitted to receive. That instinct had not vanished. Naruto saw it in the precise way Sasuke returned the strip of ledger paper to its envelope, aligning the edges so the message looked undisturbed, and in the half-step he took toward the corridor before stopping. Privacy remained the shape in which danger felt most familiar to him.

Repository Six had windows.
This was the first thing Naruto disliked about it.
Hidden places should have looked hidden. They should have been underground, behind stone doors or at the end of tunnels where the air changed before the danger appeared. Repository Six occupied the lower two floors of an abandoned municipal records office near Konoha's northern drainage quarter. Dust filmed the windows. A warped public notice board remained beside the entrance, displaying tax deadlines from nine years earlier and a faded warning against storing bicycles in the corridor. Someone had swept the front steps within the last week.
“Maybe municipal ghosts are tidy,” Naruto whispered.
Kiba, lying behind the next roof ridge with Akamaru tucked inside his coat, sniffed the air. “Ghosts don't use lamp oil.”
“How do you know?”
“Because dead people don't need lamps.”
“They might like them.”
Shino adjusted the insects gathered beneath the guttering. “This dispute cannot be resolved through available evidence.”Series
