Summary
Post-Dominion War, the Federation’s shadow has teeth.
Vane, a human survivor shaped by war, massacre, Klingons, and violence, is trying to survive on the edges of known space when Section 31 finds him. Thatch, a part-Betazoid street survivor from Turkana IV, is taken too. Forced together by a handler who sees them as useful weapons, the two young operatives learn quickly that trust may be the only thing keeping them alive.
But Section 31 does not build families. It uses people.
As Vane and Thatch gather the broken, dangerous, discarded people the galaxy would rather forget — including a scarred targ named Kreia and a Romulan officer with secrets of her own — loyalty begins to matter more than orders. What starts as survival becomes rebellion, and rebellion becomes piracy.
