It pools in the bottom of his stomach like the panic he has been trying to suppress, curves around his brain like a skull too small. Hanzo's eyes do not open. He sees…
He sees blue. Electric blue. Blue like the current in his blood, like the color of his favorite hair band. The one they would not let him wear. They did not let him tie his hair up.
His skin is moving.
The dragon bonding ceremony does not go well. No human is built to hold two dragons- nobody knows what to do as they both ink themselves into Hanzo's skin.

Summary
Hanzo remembered both getting the tattoo, of course. But now it was tainted. By memories of a darkened room, of being held down where he should have been patiently still. Searing heat instead of needling pain. The memories were right but they felt all wrong, and some part of him resented the clan for that, more than he resented them for marking him in the first place.
