Summary
When a bill is signed requiring submissives to wear collars with their Dominant's information when outside of their home, Levi feels like the outside evil of the world is invading the careful peaceful world that Erwin has created for the two of them. After a nasty argument, things seem to settle down and Levi (begrudingly) gets a collar and meets one of Erwin's students, an aspiring history professor, Eren Yeager, and his male sub, Armin. Levi, while delighted by meeting another male sub, has to come to terms with the new way of the world while Erwin takes a big risk, fighting back as he can, with an unexpected outcome.

It's been a few months in Canada and Levi and Erwin are still adjusting. Levi has questions about consent, concerns about his increased weight, hatred for a new popular book, and a determination to see things through with his Dominant turned partner. Erwin's compliance shifts but, ultimately, the Dom means well, struggling to cope in a society where his dynamic means nothing, coming from a country where it was everything. As they traverse the rocky waters of what an 'equal' relationship would be, Levi struggles to establish boundaries. But, in the end, they make some shocking progress.

Summary
Armin lives a very predictable and traditional existence with his new Dominant, Eren. Surely, they have their struggles including a disapproving grandfather and Eren's critical father, but things grow even more complicated when federal agents approach Eren, inquiring about his mentor's disappearance. Life under the microscope is set to only get more challenging, especially as Eren struggles to keep his job and to prove himself and Armin works hard not (but not always successfully) at keeping Eren's life as simple as possible.
Across the border, Erwin is struggling to relinquish his control over Levi and Levi is chomping at the bit for freedom. Now a professor for a Canadian college, Levi must learn new social expectations while dealing with feeling like he's being studied by Erwin's colleagues. All while the two try to transition from a traditional relationship to something more commonly acceptable in the eyes of his colleagues, while Erwin's friends at the deli encourage regression on the front, idolizing tradition.
