Summary
Indeed, the man would sometimes debrief Steve after! A glint in his eye, merry, as he asked if he thought Dr Owens or his five thousand pounds a year was more handsome, and Steve had all but choked upon his reply that Dr Owens was indeed handsome, regardless of his income!
“Hmm,” Sir Hopper had intoned that evening, teeth around his cigarillo as he puffed the heady scent of tobacco into the air. “I myself find the pounds comely rather than my dear friend (who himself would be the first to say it, so do not make such a face, young sir), but to each their own. Either way, he’s much too old for you.”
“I do not find myself concerned overmuch with such things,” Steve had tried to demure, for he had not wished to seem ungrateful for what introductions into the society of Devonshire and its surrounds Sir Hopper did offer.
Sir Hopper had snorted, ungainly in his amusement, and tapped his temple. He’d said, “I shall keep that in mind, then. Still: six and thirty years between you is too much. Five and ten, however, is much more agreeable to my delicate sensibilities. What say you to that?”
Or: an Omegaverse Regency AU inspired by Sense and Sensibility.

Summary
Then, he sank down into the tub with a soft groan, his arm over the edge, the tumblr dangling from his fingers as he closed his eyes in gratitude. It was warm, if a little tepid in spots — as if it had been sitting, and only recently topped off with freshly heated water, which of course he did know was the case; but Eddie did not find it in himself to mind. He’d been so chilled from the rain that it would have been a welcome reprieve even if it had been lukewarm through and through. He did not even mind its slightly cloudy nature, which at first he attributed to whatever was creating the pleasing scent wafting from it: milk and honey, and something like fresh bread. It was so curiously incongruous — what types of oils, he wondered, could produce such a scent in a bath? — that it did not occur to him that he had come across it before; and then when it did —
Wherein we have a brief interlude with Colonel Theodore Munson as he himself recovers from the storm in the thyme and rosemary kept.
