Sure, he'd heard of depression, understood the effects, but to him, it was never personal. He never experienced it, so he could never get it.
Compared to the outside world, the confining walls of his house were boring. He had everything he needed on the outside—sunshine, the rolling earth beneath his feet, and he had his family.
