Summary
“You didn’t know you could do that, did you?” Stanley watches him from across the room, sat on top of an end table he’d turned right side up.
The Narrator frowns and puts the pen and paper down, closing the pad so Stanley can’t see that all he’s been sketching is the control room from various angles. He doesn’t want Stanley to get the wrong idea about things; the Narrator is just longing for something familiar is all. He has no idea how Stanley seems to thrive out here in the chaos.
“No.”

Summary
In front of him, a young girl (Is she six? Ten? Twelve? Narrator has no idea how to identify the growth stages of these mammalian creatures) is attempting to pull a book off a shelf much taller than her. With a grunt of effort, she succeeds, but it’s clearly heavier than she anticipated, because her arms wobble and the book starts an arc that will land it directly on top of her head.
Without even thinking, Narrator reaches out and snatches it, faster than any human should be able to. “Are you alright?” he asks, trying to play it off.
“Woah,” she says, eyes as big as dinner plates. Her hands are still up in the air, holding nothing now. “Are you a superhero or something?”
OR: Narrator makes a friend at the library.

Summary
The sun is going down, and the festival lights haven’t cut on yet, but Stanley’s gobsmacked expression is very clear.
“How have you never had a funnel cake? We dragged you with us to the fair when it was in town.” They had indeed. All four of them had been that time, Curator holding everyone’s bags while they went on dubiously safe roller coasters, all of them ooh-ing and ahh-ing at the various animals and plants put on display. This time, it’s just the two of them. On a date. Narrator doesn’t know if he wants to throw up (an impossibility for him, but try telling that to the components of his abdomen) or not yet. Time will tell.

Summary
Encounter #28)
-Location: Electric Co-op Office
-Parties: Stanley, Curie
-Witness: BirchBrakToday I was downtown running errands for my uncle, and while I was waiting in line at the post office I was staring out the window bored. Nothing interesting happened, but while I was watching I saw Curie go inside to pay her bill in person I guess? But Stanley stood outside and waited for her to come out. It was a really hot day, too. It couldn’t have been fun sweating there for ten minutes. Like I said, nothing earth-shattering, just kind of odd.
