"Danny held his breath, awaited the inevitable attack of his parents. But nothing came. He was still just standing there, his shield glowing and his eyes wide open, staring at the ghost hunters that… wait, they didn’t have any weapons out and ready to shoot him with. They were just… standing there, staring at him with their slightly foggy eyes, as if not sure they were really seeing him, and yet clearly aware of his presence."
For some unknown reason, Jack and Maddie Fenton don't attack Danny Phantom anymore, which really confuses him...

Summary
To everyone’s surprise, Phantom didn’t show up in the circle.
Instead, a very human and alive teenager popped up from the mist, his black hair messy and crunched up, like it’s been smashed down for hours now. He had a NASA themed pajama set and his eyes were groggy. He looked around, his eyes blinking dazedly at the people gawking at him, and, right before them, his blue eyes widened in alarm and he got onto his feet, his hands flying upwards to tug at his hair.
“Oh, crud.”
In a world where Danny and Sam don't know each other, Sam works at a store where people come to summon ghosts every once in a while. And sometimes, instead of Phantom, they end up summoning a normal teenager who's very much alive. It's not hard to put two and two together

Summary
When Sam dared Danny to step into the ghost portal, she never expected things to go this wrong, okay? That was most definitely not her intention. God, she would have never said a word about it in the first place if she knew how things would turn out!
A tiny voice in her head told her there might be nothing to do to help him. Maybe Danny was gone. That scream sure didn’t make it sound like he was going to come out of this portal in one piece. And the fact that it just stopped all of a sudden…
No, she couldn’t think like that. Danny had to be okay.

Summary
Other Danny lifted his gaze and stared into Danny’s eyes, blinking rapidly in confusion, his eyes turning clearer as he seemed to tense and take Danny in, looking less surprised and more just… annoyed and frustrated.
“I’m in the past,” he muttered, dragging a hand down his face. Then he threw his head back and yelled, “Clockwork, if you’re listening to this, I’m coming for you next!”
“What is going on?” demanded Mr. Lancer who pushed forward until he was kneeling before other Danny, eyeing him and Danny warily. “I want an explanation right now, Mr. Fenton. And, er, Mr. Fenton…” He shook his head confusedly. “This is not the direction this lesson was supposed to take.”
“Trust me, Mr. Lancer,” said other Danny, “that’s what I keep on saying about my entire life.”

An English lesson is interrupted by a portal opening and spitting out a white-haired ghost.

Summary
“S-seriously, can we not do this today?” he said, his voice smaller than it’s ever been before. “I’m so not in the mood…”
“What’s wrong with you?” she asked before she could stop herself.
“I know, I know. I’m a creep, a monster, ectoplasm scum, an odd manifestation of ectoplasmic energy imposed human consciousness. I’ve heard you every single time, trust me. Just… can we maybe reschedule?”
She blinked, stumped. “No, I mean… you’re crying.”
---
After Danny snaps at her to leave him be, Maddie goes to the park and stumbles upon a familiar ghost... crying?

Summary
Danny Fenton died during his accident. Everyone in Casper High knew that. Heck, everyone in Amity Park knew that. Because while withdrawn, quiet and solitary, Danny was still a Fenton, and the town knew of the famous ghost fanatics and their children. So, really, everyone knew Danny Fenton was dead.
Except for Danny Fenton, apparently.

Amity Park thinks Danny Fenton is dead. Danny is very confused.

Summary
Star blinked dumbly up at him. This hadn’t been a part of her plan. Phantom was an elusive ghost who only showed up to, like, fight other ghosts. Ectoplasmic disasters were his forte—not rescuing random people from various other threats. Although he did sometimes show up for more random dangers. Like that school bus he’d caught a while back.
Still, the chances of him showing up on this roof and seeing her had never crossed her mind. It was ludicrous to even entertain the idea. There was no ghost fight nearby, no new spectral threat like the one with that ghost king guy. As far as she was concerned, Phantom was supposed to be chilling wherever the heck he went off to between ghost attacks. He had no reason to be in the middle of Amity Park on a Wednesday afternoon.
Disdain replaced her shock and she impatiently got up and said, “Oh, my gosh. Can you, like, go away?”
“You’re kidding, right?” he huffed flatly. “I’m not that stupid. I’m not going anywhere.”
