Maybe it was nothing, just feelings left over from the case. They had all been on edge and were trying to just forget what had happened. Maybe she didn't need to say a word.

Everyone else was securing the scene, handling Strauss and making the awful, necessary phone calls that needed to be made when someone died. Emily's job however, was to look after Aaron and Jack and get them through the night even though their world had been torn apart.

Aaron stirred slightly as he felt the gentle beams of sunlight on his face through a small gap in the curtains. However, he resisted the urge to get up and close the curtains to shut the gap.

He had hand-written each of their names and although there was no return address or way they could trace it; he knew it was possible he could have left trace DNA. All for the effort of messing with her head. It was part of his game; a way to remind her that no matter where she was, she wouldn’t be safe. He could get to her; get to her team.

When she had texted him half an hour earlier asking if she could come over; he had just expected their usual night of hanging out; watching movies with Jack, laughing and joking around, a glass of wine when Jack had been put to bed. What he hadn’t expected was the sight of a tearful Emily standing in the doorway, wiping at her red eyes as he opened the door.
Emily's brokenhearted and all she needs is her best friend, his adorable young son and some junk food. All of which, Aaron is more than happy to provide if it makes the woman he loves/best friend feel better.

This time however, things are a lot worse and now, she just wants to be here for him. All Aaron wants is for the entire world to go away or at least, have the chance to go back to Yesterday, to before any of this even happened.

Once upon a time, there was a brave and handsome King who ruled over a great and powerful kingdom. Although he had everything he could ever want, the king also had an unbearable curse placed upon him that caused him great misery and pain. His heart had been locked away by an evil sorcerer and the key that unlocked the king’s heart had been shattered into pieces and lost.
Only a princess who had known the King before his heart had been locked away had the power to find the pieces of the keys and break the curse.

Aaron rolled his eyes inwardly at the sight of the woman who had just entered the bullpen and greeted Reid and Morgan as she headed towards Emily’s desk. She looked like Emily, of course, walked like Emily, talked like Emily. But it wasn’t Emily. He thought they had gotten over their little practical joke, even if they had tried to describe it as a profiling exercise. They had done it on occasion ever since Emily joined the team but this had been the first time they had actually brought it into the BAU.

It will be an interesting school year after all.

The first is that she is right; Haley and Jack have been lured home. The second is that while Haley and Jack can get to safety, someone needs to stay at the Hotchner house. And that someone is her.
