“I’m still here,” Bruce turns, facing Clark completely. “Clark, I made the decision to fly that rocket. It would not have been your fault if I didn’t come back.” Despite peering into glossy blue eyes, the words come out matter-of-factly.
“It’s not that!” Clark’s free hand grabs at Bruce’s waist, bringing the other even closer. “Bruce, don’t you understand? You’re my best friend. I don’t know what I would do if… Gosh, Bruce, you’re supposed to be the world’s greatest detective, don’t you know how I feel about you?”
