A collection of works where the characters are actually competent, as they would realistically be in the circumstances that they are in, or with the experience that they have through their story.
This all started because I kept getting frustrated whenever characters are written into the damsel trope a bit too hard, when, within the story, it does not make sense for that character to be.

A chasm opened up on the Ghost that almost swallowed the four remaining Spectres. Kallus felt himself standing on the edge as they slipped through his fingers, falling. The ship seemed to echo strangely. There were empty bunks. Empty seats in the cockpit that no one wanted to fill.
The Ghost became well suited to its name, and Spectres One and Six haunted the ship.
(Post 4th Season, and Kallus is surprised to be the one holding everything together. He’s not sure how long he can manage it.)

Crouched on the edge of the roof as he was, he observed the streets below him silently. He was coming to the end of his patrol, and if everything remained as it was, he'd be able to catch a decent nap before having to report in to the school for another round of proctoring.
Which, of course, is when he saw the kid being chased down the alley.

Being sucked through a time-traveling portal and dropped in the middle of a fantasy world with supervillains was not his idea for a good start to the new school year.
