At the mention of Damian, all of Jon's anger deflated. He had to hand it to his brother; the man knew how to be distracting. The super almost forgot what events landed him in this mess to begin with. How his inability to hurt the vigilante cost him his own boyfriend.
"To be honest, I wish he had rubbed off on me more. Then maybe I could have prevented all of this. Instead, I'm at death's doorstep, and Damian is stuck as someone's puppet. What a great boyfriend I turned out to be." The twisted knots in his stomach had nothing to do with the Kryptonite and everything to do with his own monumental failure.

Tim finds himself vaguely grateful for the solid back of the shelf, he was already gonna be one big bruise, the landing could have been worse.
Sounds of fighting erupt behind him, and he tilts his head back to get a look at the commotion. Batman is there, expertly taking down the goon before they can take advantage of Tim's stunned state. Tim gets a little thrill of excitement, seeing Batman fight, quickly replaced by dread.
Oh he was in trouble.
