Summary
Shane hits Ilya on the ice (a clean hit, the kind every hockey player takes a dozen times a game or practice and simply carry on skating). But Ilya doesn’t keep skating. Ilya goes down. Hard. The thud echoing around the arena. He doesn’t get back up. Shane panics.
