Merlin will die in Camelot. He knows this the minute he walks in to an execution. His magic will be revealed and he will die.
Merlin will not serve Arthur Pendragon. This will not be his future. Merlin will never bow and scrape to such a man.
The dragon says Morgana must die. He says Mordred will kill Arthur. He says he must be set free. Merlin will do as he says and Merlin will refuse. Either way, Merlin will regret.
Arthur will be king and magic will be free. Merlin will make it happen, because Arthur is good and because Merlin will follow him wherever he may lead.
Merlin will never tell Arthur he loves him. Merlin will never get his happy ever after. Merlin will never tell Arthur about his magic either. He will never know what Arthur would say.
Arthur will not die. Arthur is the Once and Future King. Arthur will not die. He will not die. Merlin will save him. He will not be too late. Tomorrow Merlin will be telling him about his love the way he never got to confess his magic. Arthur will not die. Arthur will not die. Arthur will not-
